Congress set to revamp party in Bihar
Patna, Apr 15 (UNI) Soon after the UP Assembly elections, Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi is planning to revamp the party in Bihar.
The AICC president has already decided to raise the partys stake in the second most populous Hindi speaking state where the Congress had been overcast by other political parties. After the UP elections, Ms Gandhi would make a two day visit to the state.
Congress Chief Spokesperson P C Mishra said here today that the Party High Command had given consent to her tour during which she would address a conference of the minorities either at Kishanganj or Purnia. On the second day of her visit, Ms Gandhi is likely to address the representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions elected with the support of the Congress.
Mr Mishra said Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Sadanand Singh had called on the party High Command in Delhi yesterday and apprised her of the political activities and other programmes taken up in Bihar.
He said Ms Gandhi's visit would give a boost to the partys rank and file. He said the party was keen to develop the state and the Union Cabinets decision for revival of Barauni fertilizer Factory and its approval for four laning of the 890 Km state roads proves the party's commitment to Bihar's development as a whole.
