Baba Amte's cardiac profile normal

Nagpur, Apr 15 (UNI) The cardiac profile of a noted social worker and Magsaysay Award winner Baba Amte was found normal today.

The cardiac profile was done on Mr Amte in view of laser surgery for an enlarged prostrate that he is scheduled to undergo shortly, doctors attending to him at his residence in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra told UNI.

Mr Amte has been put on a catheter in view of his condition, they said.

A medical team from Nagpur carried out the cardiac profile on Mr Amte as per medical advice as he is to be administered general anaesthesia while undergoing the surgery, the doctors said.

It has not yet been decided when to shift Mr Amte to Mumbai for the surgery, they added.

Mr Amte is to be shifted from Anandwan to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai, for treatment of an enlarged prostrate gland since it has the equipment for treating the prostrate by laser, the doctors said.
