AP CM lays fondation stone for lift irrigation project
Warangal, Apr 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid the foundation stone for the third phase of 'J Chokka Rao Devadula lift irrigation scheme' near Aswaraopally village in Raghunathpalli mandal in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the project costing Rs 33,356 crore, would provide water for irrigation to 3.43 lakh acres of land in Warangal and Nalgonda districts.
It would also provide drinking water to Warangal, Janagama town and the Ayacut area, he said works undertaken in the first and second phases were almost complete and water would be released to the farmlands soon.
