Amitabh Bachchan worships at Balaji temple

Tirupati, Apr 15: Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary Amar Singh, accompanied by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and Reliance Group Chairman and Managing Director Anil Ambani, today offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple in uphill Tirumala. Arriving here in a chartered flight, they were received by Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer A P V N Sarma and other officials at the temple entrance.

After performing the special pooja inside the temple, Amitabh Bachchan dropped the first wedding card of his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan in the temple hundi.

The wedding of Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai will be held on April 20.

Later, TTD Executive Officer offered Srivari prasadams to Amitabh, Amar Singh and Anil Ambani inside the temple premises.

The temple priests and pundits blessed them by reciting vedic hymns.

After worshipping at the Balaji temple, each of them donated Rs 51 lakh for various TTD schemes like Pranadhana, Nityaannadhana and Balamandir Trust. They handed over the cheques to the TTD Executive Officer.
