8 sitting, 6 former MLAs to contest Phase VI

Jaunpur, Apr 15 (UNI) Eight sitting and six former MLAs would contest the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly election from this district, going to the polls in Phase VI on May 3.

Sitting Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Shachindra Nath Tripathi and former MLA Banshanrayan Singh Patel, representing Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), are contesting from the Barsathi assembly seat.

Unable to get the ticket, sitting SP MLA from Madiyahu, Shradha Yadav, is fighting independently.

Former BJP MLA Ashok Sonkar is contesting from represent Kerakat (reserved) seat.

After winning twice from Bayalsi, BSP's sitting MLA Jagdish Narayan is again in the fray.

BJP MLA Surendra Pratap Singh is contesting from Jaunpur, while JD(U) MLA Dhananjay Singh is standing from Rari.

Former SP MLA from Garhvara, Lal Bahadur Yadav, is again standing from the same seat. SP MLA and state home minister, Shailendra Yadav Lalai is contesting from Kuthan seat.

Former BJP MLA's Seema Dwivedi and former SP MLA Raj Narayan Vind, are face-to-face in Garhvara.

Four time MLA from SP Jawala Prasad Yadav is comtesting from Machlishaher.

UNI
