5 labourers killed as tipper overturns in AP village

Tirupati, Apr 15 (UNI) Five labourers, including three women, were killed and 11 injured, three of them seriously, when a sand-laden tipper overturned at Mallayappapalle village in Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district today.

Police said the mishap occurred when the labourers, after purchasing vegetables from a market, were proceeding to Chandragiri in the tipper.

The bodies of the deceased were retrieved from the heap of sands, while the injured were rushed to the Government Ruia Hospital here, police added.
