Munda faces villagers' wrath in his own yard
Jamshedpur, Apr 14 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda faced the wrath of villagers' today for violating the ''Janata Curfew'' imposed by Bhumi Raksha Gramin Ekta Manch at Naryanpur village in neighbouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The manch members protested as soon as Mr Munda, who was scheduled to lay the foundation of the boundary wall of a local school, entered the area. The protestors showed black flags and shouted slogans against the BJP leader.
The manch members were protesting against Mr Munda's visit as they held him responsible for their displacement due to signing of an MoU for Tata Steel's proposed green field steel plant at the nearby Tentoposi when he was the State Chief Minister.
The BJP supporters opened fire in the air to scare the agitated mob but police soon took control over the situation and imposed prohibitory order under section 144 Cr Pc in the area to prevent any untoward incident, Mr Laxman Prasad said.
Mr Munda, the MLA from Kharsawan, was also supposed to attend a series of meetings in the area. However, he canceled the programme in view of the incident.
