Jammu, Apr 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha today paid rich tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, saying that he relentlessly worked for the uplift of the down trodden sections of the society and for building up national awareness about their problems.

General Sinha, in a message on the birth anniversary of Baba Sahib, said Dr Ambedkar strove for the emancipation of weaker sections of the society and their rightful inclusion in the decision making process as equal partners, not only in the country's polity but also in all spheres connected with national development and reconstruction.

The Governor described Baba Sahib's contribution in drafting the Constitution of India, saying that incorporation of constitutional safeguards for the underprivileged classes would always remain a hallmark of his achievements. He hoped that the commitment and dedication of Dr Ambedkar towards the nation would continue to inspire posterity to work with zeal and vigour for the cause of social justice.
