Women arrested with fake notes worth Rs 61000
Aizawl, Apr 13 (UNI) A Village Defence Party (VDP) has seized fake currencies worth Rs 61000 from a woman of Tuikual locality near here.
The VDP had handed over the woman to the Aizawl police immediately yesterday, VDP sources said here today.
The currencies were all of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations, police said.
Police further said the VDP came to know about the matter after they found a boy trying to use a fake Rs 1000 note at a shop here.
Upon interrogating the boy revealed that the money had been given to him by the woman, his mother, who confessed to have obtained the fake notes from Moreh in Manipur.
