Villagers lynch murderer

Hajipur, Apr 13 (UNI) An irate mob today lynched a man who was trying to escape after shooting at a businessman near Chakochan Chowk under Bidupur police station in Vaishali district.

Hajipur Sub-Divisional Officer Anil Kumar said three persons shot at coal merchant Sanjay Mahto at Hajipur-Mahnar road and tried to flee.

The noise of the firing alerted local people who caught hold of two of the assailants while the third fled.

Mr Kumar said the angry villagers lynched both the miscreants.

While one succumbed to his injuries at the spot, the other had been admitted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
