Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) Allegations of corruption against Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Dr P S Pasricha by a news channel today figured in the Legislative Assembly with Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil assuring a statement on the issue.

The matter was raised by BJP member Devendra Phadanvis (BJP) and others as soon as the House assembled for the day in the morning.

They said the expose by the news channel about Dr Pasricha's alleged links with builders, underworld and his unaccounted properties at various places in the State was serious as the needle of suspicion was towards the highest ranking officer of the State police. Mr Patil, who was present in the House, assured the members that he would make a statement on this issue in three hours. After the Question Hour, Mr Phadanvis read out the adjournment notice in this connection demanding a discussion on the issue where the news channel exposed alleged links of Dr Pasricha with Sailesh Savla of Kunal Builders, who is involved in the SRA scam.

Mr Phadanvis said the expose showed how the police chief allegedly helped the builder to absolve himself after he (Pasricha) was given a Rs 3.5 crore penthouse at the cost of Rs 50 lakh in Juhu and another penthouse in Andheri worth Rs 2.5 crore at Rs 50 lakh.
