Tremors felt in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Apr 13 (UNI) People came out from their houses in panic this evening as tremors were felt in Raigarh and Jashpur districts of Chhattisgarh.

Tremors continued for about 10 seconds from 1720 hours at Dharamjaigarh and Kapu in Raigarh district and Pathalgaon and nearby areas in tribal Jashpur district.

Dharamjaigarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) S K Gupa told UNI that ''mild tremors'' were felt in the region. He said people came out from their buildings, as windowpanes shook and utensils rattled.

However, the intensity of the earthquake was not immediately known, as seismograph facility is not available in Chhattisgarh.

''We will be able to get details about its intensity either from Nagpur or Jabalpur,'' official sources said.
