TJP merges with NCP

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Apr 13 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Jananayaka Congress (TJC) led by K Ramamoorthy formally merged with Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) at a function held here this evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pawar said the merger would help the NCP to strengthen its base in Tamil Nadu.

He said with the merger, the NCP had bright chances to win seats in the next Assembly elections in the state.

Earlier, Mr Pawar praised Mr Ramamoorthy for his illustrious political career in the state.
