Three member railway delegation visits Sabroom

Agartala, Apr 13 (UNI) A three member high level delegation has arrived here from Delhi to make an on the spot study of the potentiality of expansion of railway line up to Sabroom in Tripura's southern most sub-division.

The delegation visited a number of border areas and also Akhaura Checkpost. It later held a high level meeting with Chief Secretary of State Sashi Prakash, Transport Department Commissioner R K Deychowdhury and other state government officials where they discussed about the expansion of railway line till Sabroom.

At present the work for expansion of railway line up to Agartala is underway and is expected to be completed within this year.

The delegation comprises Executive Director of Railway Board (Plan) Girish Pillai, Director of Union Transport Ministry (Planning commission) V V Reddy and Director of Union Home Ministry (Incharge of North Eastern region) R R Jha.

The delegation, which arrived yesterday is scheduled to visit Sabroom today, will be led by the State Transport Department Secretary.
