Threat letter to Municipal Chairman

Kancheepuram, Apr 13 (UNI) In a threat letter to Kancheepuram Municipal Chairman, an Islamic militant outfit warned that they would blow up his house with a bomb.

Police said Chairman V Rajejendran, belonging to the AIADMK, handed the threat letter to Kancheepuram police. The letter alleged that Mr Rajendran used money to win the elections.

A team headed by Inspector Kanniappan and a constable is investigating as to which militant outfit had sent the letter.

The threat letter to Mr Rajendran comes close on the heels of yesterday's letter from another Islamic organisation to blow up Sivakanchee police station.
