Temple staff suspended for serving 'prasad' on death anniversary

Visakhapatnam, Apr 13 (UNI) The Endowment Department today suspended two employees of Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple at Simhachalam for allegedly serving temple prasad for death anniverasay in the family of a local political leader.

The incident was exposed by the local media on Wednesday. The leader had ordered some items from the temple kitchen.

After preliminary enquiry, the temple authorities announced the suspension of kitchen incharge Tatacharyulu and assistant cook T Appalacharlu alias Chinna.

The incident shocked the residents of Simhachalam and nearby areas prompting the authorities to give an assurance that steps would be taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
