TDP criticises PCB's move to close cashew units

Srikakulam, Apr 13 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Parliamentary Party leader K Yerran Naidu today criticised the Pollution Control Board's (PCB) decision to shut down the Cashew Processing units without educating the unit owners on alternative methods.

Taking part in the relay hunger strike along with the unit owners and workers here, Mr Naidu assured them that he would take up the matter with the District Collector and the officials concerned.

The Cashew Workers' Association spokesperson A Adinarayana urged the government to shift the units to an exclusive industrial zone and restart it.
