Chennai, Apr 13 (UNI) The snake-charmer analogy kicked up a humourous uproar in the Tamil Nadu assembly, as the serious exchanges over revoking the suspension of four AIADMK members took a humorous turn today.

A demand for revoking the suspension of AIADMK members, V P Kalairajan, Pollachi V Jayaraman, Ce Ve Shanmugam and R Viswanathan for the rest of the budget session, took a lively twist, when Deputy leader of the opposition O Panneerselvam drew the analogy to have a dig at Information Minsiter Parithi Ilamvazhuthi.

It all began when Mr Ilamvazhuthi, defending the suspension of the AIADMK members, said during the previous AIADMK regime, he was repeatedly ''thrown out'' of the house but never called back to take part in the proceedings.

Countering him, Mr Panneerselvam said ''we know how Mr Parithi had danced like a cobra when he was in the opposition and how he was confining himself like a coiled snake in the box as a responsible Minister'', amid peels of laughter.

To this Mr Ilamvazhuthi, known for his witty raparties, quickly sprang on his feet and said ''if I danced like a snake, it shows how much you played the ''magudi'' (pipe insturment), to a thumping of desks from the treasury benches.

Not to be outdone, a calm and composed Mr Panneerselvam got up and countered ''we are happy that you admit that you danced to our tunes, bringing barbs to a close, amid another round of laughter.
