Silver remains steady, gold eases
Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) Silver today remained steady on moderate demand while gold eased by Rs 40 per ten gm on thin buying support on the Bombay Bullion Exchange.
Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 19,890 per kg on poor demand. It later recovered and closed at its yesterday's level of Rs 19,915.
In London, silver firmed at USD 13.90/13.97 per troy ounce against USD 13.95/13.97 per troy ounce in New York.
Standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 9,415 and Rs 9,460 per ten gm respectively on thin buying support.
The yellow metals declined and closed at Rs 9,410 and Rs 9,455 per ten gm respectively with a loss of Rs 35 for standard gold and Rs 40 for pure gold from their last close.
In London, gold rose to USD 677.50/679.60 per troy ounce as compared to USD 676.00/677.85 per troy ounce in New York on Thursday.
