Select metal prices decline on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) Select metal prices declined on poor industrial demand, in the Bombay Metal Exchange, traders here said today.

In the Ferrous section, Copper heavy and Copper utensils eased by Rs 600 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively while Brass utensil and Brass cutting drifted lower by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on lack of fresh demand.

In the Non-ferrous section, Copper wire bars and Zinc slab also fell by Rs 500 each per quintal while Lead ingots came down by Rs 200 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,800, Copper utensils - Rs 33,800, Brass utensils - Rs 26,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 10,500, Tin slab - Rs 800 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,350 (per kg).
