Ram temple not UP assembly poll agenda: Venkaiah
Faizabad, Apr 13 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu today said the party's long standing dream of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya is not on the party's agenda for the ongoing assembly polls in UP.
''The construction of Ram temple is related with the sentiments of crores of Hindus. It can never be an election agenda for BJP,'' Mr Naidu told mediapersons after a meeting with party workers.
However, he asserted that the Ram temple would come up at the disputed site and nowhere else.
''It is a wrong perception that BJP is trying to distance itself from the issue. Instead, the party is committed to convert the makeshift temple into a grand temple at Ayodhya and for this, we require majority at the Centre and state as well,'' he added.
Claiming that BJP has got nothing to do with the 'objectionable CD', he alleged it to be the handiwork of SP, BSP and Congress.
He further claimed at present, BJP is the right choice and it will surely win the ongoing state poll.
