Police officer arrested with illicit timber in Kashmir

Srinagar Apr 13 (UNI) The Forest Protection Force (FPF) has arrested an official of the Jammu and Kashmir police alongwith illicit timber in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

He said a tip off was received that an Assistant Sub-Inspector of state police Sharief-ud-Din has purchased timber from some smugglers at Panzalla.

A raid was organised and the officer was arrested with the timber.

A case has been registered, he said.
