Badaun, Apr 13 (UNI) BJP Vice-President and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh today said those against the recital of Vande Mataram could not be patriotic.

The party has already announced to make recital of Vande Mataram compulsory in schools, if it comes to power after the UP assembly polls. Interestingly, the issue is being used as a weapon against the BJP by the Opposition parties.

Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Singh reiterated that his party was against the ''caste politics'' and reservation being given to Muslims.

''Hindus can be safe only under BJP regime,'' he added.

Further, he announced that the poor would be given reservation facilities, if the BJP came to power.

Claiming that the BJP will form the next UP government in the backdrop of recent poll successes in Punjab and Uttarakhand, Mr Singh lambasted the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) and Mayawati-led BSP for ''financial bunglings'' amounting to several crores of rupees.
