One person killed, 30 injured as bus overturns in HP

Hamirpur, Apr 13 (UNI) One person was killed and 30 injured after a speeding private bus overturned and fell into a nearby field in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.

The accident occurred at Bailghat in the district while the bus was on its way to Sarkaghat in Mandi district from Hamirpur town this afternoon.

The sources said five seriously injured passengers have been referred to Hamirpur Government Hospital, while the remaining were undergoing treatment in the Bhoranj Government Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Lekh Raj of Ropri village of the district, the sources said.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known. Police had registered a case against the bus driver and investigations were on, sources said.
