One injured in grenade attack on CRPF in Kashmir
Srinagar Apr 13 (UNI) One person was injured when militants hurled a hand grenade on a Road Opening Party (ROP) of the Central Reserve Police Force (ROP) in the high security Karan Nagar area today.
Official sources said militants hurled a hand grenade towards a ROP of 71 battalion of the CRPF at Karan Nagar this morning.
However, it missed the target and exploded on the roadside, causing injuries to one Mohammad Amin Bhat, a resident of old city Kani Kadal.
The injured was admitted to hospital.
The militants managed to escape before CRPF pesonnel present in the area could retaliate.
Meanwhile, CRPF and police have intensified searches in the city.
Almost all vehicles, entering the city from the outskirts, were being checked and passenger frisked at different places.
In the city, including the historic Lal Chowk, Budshah Chowk and Gantha Ghar areas, security force personnel were seen frisking pedestrians.
