No transperancy in allotment of land to Mukta arts:Chavan
Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) Maharashtra cultural affairs minister Ashok Chavan today admitted that there was no transparency in the transfer of land to Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts by the government and said the government could not reverse or review the decision since the matter is sub judice.
Making a statement on a calling attention notice given by Madhu Chavan (BJP) and others, Mr Chavan said the land has been valued at Rs 30 crore by the state accountant general and that is now the value of government's equity in the joint venture with Mukta Arts.
The state government had entered into a joint venture with Mukta arts for Rs 20 crore, out of which Rs three crore was the government's equity. However, the value of the land was Rs 28.20 crore and IAS officer Govind Swaroop is currently facing charges of corruption on the deal.
