More than 7 quintal opium seized

Mandsaur, MP, Apr 13 (UNI) One person has been arrested and more than seven quintal opium, worth over Rs 1.5 lakh, has been seized from him at Gorath tahsil in this district, police said today.

Police seized 7.09 quintal opium, hidden in orange crates, from a truck yesterday. Truck driver Mohammed Shafi was arrested.

Meanwhile, Railway Police seized 1.5 kg opium and 2 kg chemical substance from Danisingh Sondhia at Shyamgarh Railway Station.

A case has been registered against both the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
