Mob lynches murderer

Hajipur, Apr 13 (UNI) One person was allegedly lynched and another injured when a mob attacked them while they were trying to flee after shooting at a businessman near Chakochan Chowk under Bidupur police station in Vaishali district.

Hajipur Sub-Divisional Officer Anil Kumar said three people shot at coal merchant Sanjay Mahto at Hajipur-Mahnar road and tried to flee.

The gunshots alerted the local people who caught hold of two assailants while the third managed to escape.

Mr Kumar said the angry villagers lynched both the miscreants.

While one succumbed to his injuries on the spot, the other had been admitted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
