Madras HC judge transferred to Punjab

Chennai, Apr 13 (UNI) Justice Palanisamy Sathasivam of Madras High Court has been transferred as Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

According to a communication to this effect from the President's office, received by the Registrar General of Madras High Court Justice P Sathasivam has to assume charge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on or before April 25.

Mr Justice Sathasivam is likely to take charge on April 20.

Appointed as Additional Judge of Madras High Court on January 8, 1996, Justice Sathasivam, hailing from Erode District, became a permanent judge in 1998. During his tenure as judge, he had passed several important judgements. He dealt with cases relating to taxation, motor vehicles, Entry Tax, Land Acquisition and Mines and Minerals.
