Lt Governor, CM greet people in UT

Puducherry, Apr 13 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Mukut Mithi and Chief Minister N Rangasamy today greeted the people of the Union Territory on the eve of Tamil New Year day.

Mr Mithi, in his message said Tamils worldover celebrate the Tamil New Year's day in the month of Chittirai, the day on which it is believed that Lord Brahma started creation of the world and consider it as an auspecious day for a new beginning to be made.

''May the Sarvajit year of 2007 herald in peace, prospirity and happiness in the lives of the people here,'' Mr Mithi said.

In his message, Mr Rangasamy wished peace and happiness in the lives of the people in the UT.
