Life imprisonment to four for murder

Bokaro, Apr 13 (UNI) A local court today sentenced four persons to life imprisonment in a murder case related to land dispute.

According to prosecution, the accused--Manohar Gope, Nihir Gobe, Prabhat Gope and Usha Devi--were illegally living on a piece of land owned by Kashiram Mahto, Puranchandra Mahto, Anil Kumar Mahto and Jathuram Mahto at Pindrajora village in the district.

On August 20, 2005 the accused had a fight with the land owners when they claimed their property.

Among them Jathuram Mahto was lynched and Anil Kumar Mahto succumbed to his injuries. The others were also injured.

The fast track court(IV) of Ajit Kumar pronounced the sentence to the accused.
