Lawyers ransack property at Varanasi DM's office

Varanasi, Apr 13 (UNI) Enraged over yesterday's clash between lawyers and policemen in neighbouring Allahabad, a group of lawyers went on rampage damaging property at the District Magistrate office here today.

A group of lawyers first carried out a demonstration at the district headquarters and later stormed the DM office, where they vandalised the furniture and some documents.

The mob further damaged the official vehicle of ADM (City), besides attacking a police constable, who tried to stop them.

Seeing the mob going out of control, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Meanwhile, city lawyers boycotted work to protest the yesterday's cops-lawyers clash outside the collectorate in Allahabad.
