LAWDA resume demolishing drive around Dal Lake
Srinagar, Apr 13 (UNI) Resuming demolishing drive around the world famous Dal Lake, the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has razed to ground 51 illegal structures.
Official sources said the LAWDA along with its demolishing force and police personnel demolished 51 structures constructed on the bank of Chuntkul, an outflow channel of the Lake.
To restore pristine glory of the Lake, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had directed the LAWDA to remove all illegal constructions in around the Lake.
Sources said so far 521 illegal structures were demolished by the LAWDA and there are still more than one hundred which would be razed to ground in the near future.
