Jammu, Apr 13 (UNI) Congress Legislator in Jammu and Kashmir Yogesh Sawhney has submitted his resignation to the state party chief to signal his protest against Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad sidelining elected representatives in public affairs.

Mr Sawhney made his dramatic announcement late last night. He said he had sent his letter to Pradesh Congress Committee President Peerzada Muhammad Sayeed.

Talking to the media at his residence he accused that it is the bureaucracy that is calling the shots. They have made the Chief Minister's residence a scriptwriting place to marginalise elected representatives, he added.

Mr Sawhney termed the Chief Minister as 'Gullible'. Party insiders said Sawhney was upset at not being involved in the preparations for the annual Jammu festival.

More than rs one crore is being spent on the festival this year.

Public Works Minister Gulchain Singh Charak has taken over all the arrangements and appears to be locked in a fierce tussle with Tourism Minister Dillawar Mir.

Interestingly, the two ministers held separate press conferences on the same festival.
