Jail term for murdering a neighbour

Rourkela, Apr 13 (UNI) Rourkela Additional Sessions Judge V Jayashree sentenced one Anjules Soreng to life imprisonment for killing a neighbour in January last year.

Soreng murdered Muna Barik of Malgodown-Kudhiapada under Udit Nagar police station on January 27, 2006 and dumped the body at the Durgapur hills.

His associate, Suchita Oram was also convicted under section 201 of IPC for helping disappearance of evidences by smearing cow dung over the blood stain on the road to save the offender.

The Judge handed down Oram to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and a fine of Rs 1,000 and in default to pay additional one month further jail.

Suchita was also sentenced for six months jail. She was, however, released on bail to prefer an appeal in the High Court.
