International gang of credit card thieves busted
New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) The police today claimed to have busted an international gang of thieves after it arrested two criminals who allegedly cheated people by using duplicate credit cards.
The police also recovered goods worth Rs four lakh and 20 duplicate credit cards from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Jaswinder Singh and Thong Cheong. An interrogation revealed that the accused were members of an international gang of duplicate credit card operators based in Malaysia. Tourists visiting Malaysia were their easy prey, the police said.
An analysis of the fake cards revealed that they contained data belonging to cards issued by banks situated in the US, Canada, Japan and Australia, the police said.
