Indian's JEOC gets FAA approval for second year in succession

Bangalore, Apr 13 (UNI) National carrier Indian's Jet Engine Overhaul Centre (JEOC) in Delhi has been granted the status of Approved Foreign Repair Station for the second time by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the US.

This would enable Indian to continue to undertake repair and overhaul of jet engines of foreign airlines, apart from the ones from the country's airliners. In 2004, the JEOC had been granted the FAA certification for the first time.

The JEOC had been operating under the Indian aviation regulatory authority, the DGCA, since its inception in 1991 and till date had refurbished about 730 JT8D and V2500 engines installed on B737 and A320 aircraft respectively, an Indian release here said today.

Spread over 1.40 lakh sqft at IGI airport, the JEOC was set up by General Electric of the US with a capital outlay of 20 million US Dollars. Over the years, the establishment had acquired state-of-the-art technology and expertise to overhaul modern jet engines.
