Haryana to set up rural industrial clusters
Chandigarh, Apr 13 (UNI) Haryana has obtained the Centre's approval for setting up four Rural Industrial Clusters under the National Programme to boost rural economy, Industries Minister Lachhman Dass Arora said here today.
These clusters, providing largescale job opportunities for the rural youth, would be set up in Ismailabad in Kurukshetra district, Farukhnagar in Gurgaon, village Odhi in Rewari and village Tallot in Mahendergarh.
Juti Manufaturing Cluster would be set up at Ismailabad at a cost of Rs 2.35 lakh, Jute and Cane Furniture Manufacturing at Farukhnagar at a cost of Rs 2.50 lakh, Leather Footwear Manufacturing at village Odhi at a cost of Rs 2.50 lakh and Embroidery Frame Manufacturing at village Tallot at a cost of Rs 2.50 lakh, he said.
The Minister informed that, the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry had approved two clusters for upgradation of physical infrastructure. These clusters would be set up at Panipat for Textile, and Faridabad for Light Engineering at a cost of Rs 54.53 crore and Rs 79.56 crore respectively. In addition, another important cluster to be set up at the cost of Rs 66.67 crore for Auto Component in Gurgaon, is under the consideration of the Centre.
Mr Arora said the State Government had also decided to take up the matter of upgradation of five other clusters with the Central Government. These clusters included Scientific Instruments at Ambala, Metal Industries at Jagadhri, Agricultural Implements at Karnal, Pharmaceuticals at Sonipat and Agri Chemical and Industrial Chemicals at Bahadurgarh.
Besides, the State Government was planning to set up Footwear Park at Bahadurgarh for development of Footwear industrial cluster, he said.
