Five members of inter-state gang nabbed in Punjab
Jalandhar, Apr 13 (UNI) Five members of an inter-state gang of robbers were arrested today.
Senior Superintendent of Police Arpit Shukla told mediapersons that the accused identified as Mohan Singh, Harpreet Singh, Avtar Singh, Sarabjit Singh and Joga Singh robbed Dalbir Kaur, an NRI woman of Rs 3.29 lakh at pistol point, at village Khaira Majja in the district on April 10.
He said cash worth Rs 1.44 lakh was recovered from them. One Toyota Innova vehicle used in the crime and one Santro car were also seized from them.
Mr Shukla said the leader of the gang Tarlochan Singh and his brother Sonu were still absconding. The vehicle used in the crime was snatched by by Tarlochan and Harpreet from New Delhi.
''Since this is a very organised and notorious gang many more arrests and recoveries are likely to be made,'' he added.
