Cong ropes in Bhojpuri stars for campaigning in UP

Lucknow, Apr 13 (UNI) Congress has roped in Bhojpuri film stars to campaign for party candidates in the ongoing Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Former Maharashtra minister of state for Home Kripa Shanker Singh said here that Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishen, Rajpal Yadav along with Ashutosh Rana and Raza Murad will campaign for the party.

Bhojpuri stars Rajpal Yadav, Ravi Kishen and Manoj Tiwari will concentrate on eastern UP (Poorvanchal), which goes to polls in the last phase on May 8.

He said creation of a separate Poorvanchal state was the only solution to the problems of the region ''plagued with little or no development.'' To a poser he said these were his personal views but he would express his stand before the party high command.

Mr Singh has been made Central Observer by the party for Lucknow Elections. The capital town would go to polls on April 28 during phase-V.
