CM stresses on buffer stock of petroleum products

Agartala, Apr 13 (UNI) Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has stressed the importance of setting up of a buffer stock centre and another gas bottling plant in Tripura.

The state government had made every effort to maintain supply of petroleum products during any eventuality for which he stressed the need for setting up of a stockyard centre of petroleum products.

A discussion was held here yesterday between the North Eastern Regional Executive Director P L Barua of the IOC and the chief minister, a first such meeting after Mr Barua took charge, according to an official release today.

The IOC had agreed to the proposal for setting up of a stockyard and said it will look for suitable land.

Besides, a proposal for setting up of another LPG bottling plant either in Dhalai or North district was placed before the IOC to introduce two shift work in a day at the Bishalgarh gas bottling plant in west district to increase the supply of cooking gas.

The IOC official reportedly assured the government that the company would look into the proposals and review these, the release added.
