Child to stay with ULFA mom in jail

Guwahati, Apr 13 (UNI) Gauhati High Court today directed the custody of four-year-old Anjali to her mother, ULFA activist Madhuri Moran, lodged at Sivasagar jail in upper Asom.

The custody of two other daughters has been given to the petitioner, a maternal uncle.

Madhuri, wife of ULFA leader Jibon Moran, was arrested in Silchar recently under various sections of the IPC. She was produced before the court along with her three daughters today.

The division bench of the court directed the Asom DGP to take due care of Anjali while she is with her mother in jail. The DGP has been asked to ensure proper medical care and nutrition to the child.

The home secretary has also been instructed to submit a monthly report on the child's condition.

Two other daughters, namely Pubali and Jaan, will be in the custody of their maternal uncle, the petitioner, the court directed.
