New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) The BJP today said UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh was a ''frustrated person'' because the people had started voting for issues, transcending castes and religion.

BJP Spokesman Prakash Javadekar, expressing hope of doing well in the UP polls, said the people had understood the futility of voting on caste lines because about 65 lakh people hailing from Backward Castes Dalits and Muslims had migrated out of UP, due to ''disillusionment.'' He claimed the bad law and order situation in the state, rising prices, power shortage and troubled farmers in the last four years of SP rule had exposed the hollowness of tall claims of Mulayam Singh and his party. It has resulted in making UP a home to 5.5 crore below poverty line people accounting for one fourth of 23 crore poor people in the country,'' he said.

Mr Javadekar said having seen the writing on wall, the CM was accusing the EC of being against him and was making appeals to people to save him from being arrested. ''His statements show that how desperate the Chief Minister is,'' he said.
