BSNL to improve its services in North East
Dimapur, Apr 13 (UNI) The telecom giant BSNL has initiated various infrastructural installation to provide better service to the people of the North Eastern states.
Interacting with the media here last evening BSNL North East Circle II General Manager P Santhosham said that mobile and broadband services of BSNL had been severely affected due to frequent power failure and wrenching of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC).
"The road widening activities between Nagaon and Guwahati in Asom and also the widening of the National Highway 61 between Kohima and Wokha has adversely affected the connectivity of the nearby districts since the OFC was cut," Mr Santhosam said.
He informed that Nagaland has an outstanding due of Rs 142 crores to BSNL, the highest in the country. Out of this the telecom giant was able to collect only Rs four crores in the last fiscal.
