BJP leader withdraws fast following govt assurance
Hyderabad, Apr 13 (UNI) BJP legislator G Kishan Reddy, who is on a hunger strike for the past five days to highlight the irregularities in Public Distribution System, kerosene and cooking gas shortage, today called off the fast, following an assurance from the Andhra Pradesh government.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy sent Information and Public Relations Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir and Mines Minister Sabita Reddy to meet the BJP leader with a promise to consider the issues raised by him.
Following the assurance, Mr Reddy called off the fast by sipping lime juice.
