4 of family shot dead over enmity

Azamgarh, Apr 13 (UNI) Four members of a family were shot dead over alleged old enmity in Jehanabad area here this evening.

According to police, Shah Alam, accompanied by five heavily armed supporters first shot dead Gaffar and Jabbar at a shop in Jehanabad market.

Later, they went to Jabbar's house in Chamanpura locality and shot dead Imtiyaz and Akram, from fleeing the scene unchallenged.

Another person was shifted to hospital in a critical condition.

Shah Alam and Jabbar were earlier partners in a Judo-Karate Club here. However, they became bitter enemies a few months back.

Sources claimed the crime was a fallout of the same.

Meanwhile, senior police officials had rushed to the spot and additional force had been deployed in the area.
