12 teachers suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 13 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended 12 teachers and five other officials for their unauthorised absence from duty, an official spokesman said.

He said a special inspection team of the Education Department headed by the Joint Director visited various schools in Singhpora and Pattan zones today.

During the checking, the team found 12 teachers, two accounts clerks, one computer assistant and two orderlies unauthorisedly absent from duty, the spokesman added.

He said the officials have been placed under suspension.

A special drive had been launched by the department throughout Kashmir valley to improve the learning process and ensure accountability at various levels in the educational institutions.
