Three killed, 7 injured

Cuddalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Three persons, including a child, were killed on the spot and seven others injured when a van in which they were travelling collided with a mini van on the Chennai-Tiruchirapalli National Highway near Ramanatham in this district, this evening.

Police said a tourist party, belonging to MGR Nagar in Chennai, was returning home after a trip to Rameswaram when the mishap occurred.

The deceased were identified as Nadhiya (24) and T Pushpa (40). A two-year-old boy was also killed.

The injured were admitted to Thittakudi Government hospital. The condition of four people was stated to be serious.

Police arrested the driver of the mini-van and registered a case.
