Third front to take shape soon: Bangarappa
Mangalore, Apr 12 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) Karnataka unit President S Bangarappa today said the much-awaited third front in the country will emerge soon as several non-Congress and non-BJP leaders have evinced interest in the formation of such a front as an alternative to the two national parties.
Addressing a press conference here, he said various political party leaders, including SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav, SP leader Amar Singh, Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu, Goswami from Asom Gana Parishad and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, have come forward in this regard. Besides, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa had extended support for the proposal. A national level discussion had been held with various leaders, he added.
Mr Bangarappa claimed that there was every possibility of the Left parties withdrawing support to the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre as the Congress had ''disillusioned'' the electorate of the country, leading to the fall of the Government.
Criticising the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in Karnataka, the former Chief Minister accused the JD(S) in the State of becoming ''shapeless'' with no leaders to take it on the path of progress.
The Government had also failed on all fronts as the coalition partners concentrated only on internal squabbles, he alleged.
