Seven killed, ten injured in three mishaps

Chennai, Apr 12 (UNI)Seven people were killed and ten injured in three road accidents in Tamil Nadu today.

According to police, three persons were killed, two on the spot, when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry near Malumichapatti near Coimbatore city. The deceased were identified as Dennis(40), a football coach Mohan(40) and the car driver Biju Thomas, hailing from Kerala. They were proceeding to Bangalore when the mishap occurred.

In another incident in Coimbatore city, two two wheelers were knocked down by a lorry, killing one person. Three others were injured.

The deceased was identified as Ravi(25).The injured were admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Three persons , including a two year-old boy, were killed on the spot and seven others injured when a van in which they were travelling, collided with a mini van on Chennai-Tiruchirapalli national highway near Ramanatham in Cuddalore district this evening.

Police said the mishap occurred when a tourist party from Chennai was returning home after a trip to Rameswaram.

The deceased were identified as Nadiya(24) and T Pushpa(40).The injured were admitted to Thittakudi Government hospital. The condition of four of the injured was stated to be serious.

The driver of the mini van was arrested.
